Regular classes

Education for students in our school is free of charge and it lasts 4 years. There are three vocations available to our students: nautical cadet, marine engineer cadet and freight forwarding and customs operator.

Students who graduate elementary school and are under 17 years of age can enroll into Maritime High School.

Every school year 140 students are enrolled into the following 5 classes:

Nautical cadet                                                                         2 classes, 56 students

Marine engineer cadet                                                             2 classes, 56 students

Freight forwarding and customs operator                              1 class, 28 students

 

In the course of their education the students study subjects in line with curricula and programs, with utmost emphasis on English language and practical studies.

Practical studies are implemented on simulators for nautical programs, and in especially equipped workshops with machines for processing of metal and finally through navigation on board the school ship Jadran.

After graduating the Maritime High School in Kotor the students receive the following qualifications:

  • Nautical cadet which enables them to go on to their cadetship as able navigation and watch officers on board ships of 500 and above 500 gross tonnage according to STCW 95 A-II/1
  • Marine engineer cadet – which enables them to go on to their cadetship as able navigation and watch officers on board ships with engine power of 750kW and above 750kW, according to STCW 95 A-II/1
  • Freight forwarding and customs operator
